General Meeting October 12, 2009

Minutes

Mark Kent opened the meeting at 6:36 pm. Ken was not in attendance, out of town.

New members and guests were introduced. Welcome to the culinary programs.

The Culinary Code was read by Seth Schiebal, a student from R.G. Drage CTC.

The secretary report is posted on the chapter web site. Mark Kent made motion to accept the September minutes, Dick Alford second. The minutes were accepted.

Treasurer report. No report at meeting. There will be a report at November meeting.

Vice President Report. Fritz Sommenschmit had to cancel for November due to a surgery. At time of meeting there is no educational component planned for November yet. December there is no meeting. January thru May educational segments are in the planning stage.

ACF National news. Michael Tee is the new National President. Jim Taylor is new Treasurer.

Chapter Business. Practical exam at LCJVS was held September 19. All 5 passed. Please make your RSVP for the Chef of the Year dinner and donate to the silent auction.

Old business. There is no old business.

New Business. John Bush is looking for a speaker for the DMA in March 2010. Please contact him if interested.

Chapter bylaws need to mirror the National bylaws. The bylaws are posted on the website for a month, and then the chapter will vote on the new bylaws at November meeting.

Mark adjourned meeting at 7:00 pm. Dick Alford made motion, John Bush second.

The educational segment was Mapleleaf farms and a duck cookery and plate presentation demo. The chapter was treated to many market forms of duck for dinner. Thanks to Mapleleaf and to Joe for his help putting the dinner together.
